What Will Make You Rock this Year: Year-Round Fashions 2016
From London to New York and Paris to Milan, the fashion ramps have offered something different and unique. From the slip dress to psychedelic lace to fur trimming and more, this year's fashion trends are fascinating, illuminating and awesome, to say the least. Here's a rundown of some of them from the Spring/Summer and the Fall/Winter trends of 2016: Shine on me: Fabrics with a lot of shine and sheen are a Spring/Summer runaway hit, though this time, the fabrics are cooler and more imaginative. You'll be amazed by Louis Vuitton's ruched foil minis and JW Anderson's highly ornate sweaters adorned with mirror pieces. Slinky slips: Celine, Pucci and Saint Laurent are at their finest here with giving the slip dress a bold and new look. This time, it's really slinky and has a scalloped lingerie trimming, and you can even find a see-through chiffon sexy slip dress. Psychedelic lace: This season shows off lace in psychedelic colors--fuschia, orange, yellow and acid green. The idea is to mix and match them and create a fusion of bright colors. Check out Christopher Kane’s bold colors in lace. Pleats: After carwash pleats made their appearance last year, this time pleats take a makeover and return to the ramp with tiny and tight knife pleats. The ramp is full of the imagination of designers Boss, Tome and Altuzarra--all worth a serious close look. Cross suspenders: Imagine wearing a big cross against your chest as cross suspenders. Now, the letter X doesn't mean 'no.' Check out Simone Rocha’s range of imaginative cross suspenders in plastic. Orange: Here's one color that will get you noticed this year. Make a bold statement by wearing an orange blouse or brighten up your look with an orange accessory or even an orange coat. It's a great way of making your presence felt. 2016 Fall/Winter trends: Reefer jackets: The reefer jacket is back as a winter trend this year and can be worn in many different and interesting styles. For instance, it can be worn really long, or paired with a lace skirt or just thrown over one's shoulders. Mantle, poncho and cape: A variety of mantles can be seen this season by designers Chanel, Ralph Lauren and others who believe that the capes and mantles should cover women's shoulders during the winter. Some designs of the capes exhibited resemble ponchos and blankets. Fur trimming: One big trend this year is fur. Fur is now used to make skirts, handbags, scarves and otehr accessories. If you're against the idea of wearing fur, opt for fur trimming. Geometry in full play: Geometry in the form of stripes and checks are back again to embellish dresses, pants, suits, blouses, blazers, etc. Take your pick. Flowers all the way: Oscar de la Renta, Zuhair Murad, Dolce and Gabbana and Marchesa have taken floral motifs really far with using them to decorate not just women's clothing but accessories and jewelry too. Maxis: For the winter, undoubtedly maxis are elegant and practical too. And so, designers Versace, Ralph Lauren, Christian Dior and Emilio Pucci have brought out an elegant and sizzling range of maxis. These are the gems that rocked the ramp and intend to rule the fashion scene this Spring/Summer. Take your pick and rock your world.
